Aidan the Aspie Critic: Wreck-It Ralph

I saw a new movie today!

It's called Wreck-It Ralph. It is a movie about a video game character called, bizarrely enough, Wreck-It Ralph. He is the villain in a retro arcade game called Fix-It Felix Jr.  Ralph has been doing his job for over 30 years, but he is sorta in a dead-end job. Ralph isn't really bad, he's just doing his job, but everyone else treats him like a criminal. No one respects him. So, Ralph abandons his game to go look for a new role to play in a different video game. The bad news is, Ralph's colleagues in his old game can't do the game without Ralph. Because Ralph isn't there, everyone thinks the game is broken. Fix-It Felix Jr.'s plug could get pulled. If a game gets it's plug pulled, it means that the game is dead. All the characters inside the game while the plug gets pulled, disappear forever. Can Ralph save his game and solve his identity crisis? Watch Wreck-It Ralph to find out!

This was an EXCELLENT movie! I, personally, didn't have high hopes for it when I saw the trailer, but I was wrong! I would really recommend it for people who know video games really well or else you won't get the references or characters. There are lots of video games that show up in this film including, Mortal Kombat, Metroid, Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Plants vs. Zombies, Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Q-Bert, MarioKart, and many, many more! (No Angry Birds or Minecraft!?!) The movie had a great message too! The movie was all about how everyone has a role and a place in this world, and the world would fall apart without someone. I'd give the movie 9 out of 10 stars! Jolly good show!

Aidan the Aspie Critic: ParaNorman

I just saw a new movie yesterday!

It's called ParaNorman. It's about a kid who can see and communicate with Ghosts (and Zombies). Everybody thinks he is just weird and creepy, including his own family! One day, his creepy Great Uncle Prenderghast, who by the way can see Ghosts too, warns Norman about a Witches curse that happens every night on the anniversary of her execution. Uncle Prenderghast has stopped it from happening every year by reading from a book at the Witches grave. But, Uncle Prenderghast died. So now, Norman has to stop the curse every year. But, something went terribly wrong! The dead were walking the earth as ZOMBIES!!!! Can Norman and his friends save the day? Watch ParaNorman to find out!

ParaNorman was an EXCELLENT movie! Like most great movies, it was based on a book. My brother and I read the book together before seeing the movie. You always understand the movie better if you read the book first! Anyway, it was terrific! It had a great moral too! The movie was all about Bullying and Forgiveness. I would give the movie 9 out of 10 stars! It was great!

Another Creeper Sighting!!!

Ok, guys,

As you know there hasn't been any sign of that Creeper for the last couple months. Well, he showed up again! I didn't actually get to SEE him but I heard him. I was admiring my blog, when I heard something behind me! It sounded like,

Luckily, I ran away and didn't get hurt. So, he is still sneaking around the site somewhere. We'll get him next time!

Aidan the Aspie Critic: Brave

Hi, guys!

I just saw a new movie! It's called, Brave. It is this year's PIXAR film. The movie was about a young princess in Celtic Scotland that loves archery. But her mother, the Queen, wants her to be the perfect princess. Being a princess is no fun! The princess wants to be a Tomboy! Even worse, 1 person from every clan is chosen as a suitor. The suitor who wins the tournament gets to marry the princess! As you probably already guessed, the princess doesn't want to get married! So, she runs away. On the way, she meets a witch. The princess told her about her mom and how she wants her to get married. The witch gives her a magic cake that she said would make her mother change her mind about the marriage. Little did the princess know, the cake turned her mom into a BEAR! So, the princess goes on a quest to change her mother back into a human. But, an evil demon bear named Mordu is on the loose! Can the princess save her mother and defeat Mordu? Watch the movie to find out!

I LOVED this movie! Another triumph by PIXAR! It even made my mom cry at the end! BOO-HOO! My mom wasn't so sure about the movie when the Queen turned into a bear. She thought it would be like the Disney movie Brother Bear. (Which TOTALLY SUCKED by the way.) But it turned out pretty okay! I'd give it 9 out of 10 stars! It was great! Can't wait for next year's PIXAR movie, Monsters University! (It is a prequel to Monsters Inc.)

A Real Slacker

I'm sorry, guys! I have really been slacking on my blog! Can you forgive me?

Alright. it is summer now so I have been very busy doing things. I had my birthday last friday, I am 11 now! I will post pictures of my presents later. I designed some papercrafts too! I'll post those later. I also re-re-discovered this cool show on CBC called Magi-Nation. It is an Anime show similar to Pokemon, only better and a little bit more intense. I'll do a post about that later. So, you should be pretty much up to date on what has been happenning to me. Here are some important announcements, Aidan the Aspie Comedian will be returning in September. Also, I am starting a new weekly series. It's called Aidan the Aspie Mind Boggler. Every week I will post a riddle. You can guess what the answer is in the comments. The next week, I will post the answer and a new riddle. I hope that will go on for at least a month. I promise not to slack anymore! If I do, let my skin be ripped from my body by wild dogs! I WILL NOT SLACK ANYMORE!!!

Aidan the Aspie Critic: The Lorax

When I was is Grand forks on spring break, I saw the new Lorax movie. My mom was a bit worried about going to see it because she thought the movie might ruin the book. The Lorax is my mom's absolute favourite Dr. Seuss story. The Lorax book is about a WALL-E style world of trash, smog, and gunk. It's also about how the world got to be like that. The most famous line in The Lorax is when the greedy old businessman, the Once-Ler, gives a trufula tree seed to a small boy who wants to restore the world. The quote is, "Unless someone like you, cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it's not." Yes, indeed, The Lorax is a very heartwarming story. But that, my friends, is the book I'm talking about.

The movie is a WHOLE different story. (SPOILER ALERT! If you don't want to know what happens, skip to the next paragraph.) The movie was about a small boy who lives in a town called, Thneedville. A thneed is kind of like a sweater made out of the tuft of a Trufula tree. The Once-Ler cut down the whole Trufula forest to get enough tufts to make his Thneeds. The boy is in love with a girl named Audrey who is played by Taylor Swift the Country-Pop star. Audrey wants to see a real tree more than anything. So the boy is determined to get her a tree. His Granny tells him to go to see the old Once-Ler to find out how to get a tree. But the Once-Ler lives out of town and no one ever goes out of town in Thneedville. An evil corporation called O-Hare air runs the town and they sell air because the air quality in Thneedville is TERRIBLE! Anyway, O-hare air doesn't like people going out town for some strange reason. Anyway, the Once-Ler tells a big story of how the world got trashed and gives the boy a Trufula seed so that he can restore the world so the Lorax and all of his friends can come back.

It was a cute movie but it wasn't that great. It was good, but not great. I think all the musical numbers were useless and cheesy. The singing would've been better off left out. The story was not very accurate to the book. There were many environmental commentaries. Like when the salesmen marketing air say to their boss, "This new Bottled Air is going to be a hit! Put anything in plastic and people will buy it!" It gets me every time! So, overall, It was a cute movie but just cuteness alone is not enough. I would only give it about 3 stars out of 5. After I see a movie or a play, I'll write about what I thought about it here. I saw a play today called Machomer by Rick Miller. Rick Miller can do perfect impressions of the entire cast of The Simpsons. I am a HUGE fan of The Simpsons, which just celebrated their 500th episode last week. Anyway, Rick decided that he'd like to do something with his impressions. So he wrote a one man play about the entire cast of The Simpsons doing Macbeth.

Some of his impressions were better than others. Homer wasn't very good. Same with Lisa, Mr Smithers, and Troy Maclure. Marge, Mr. Burns, Apu, Otto, Mr. Skinner, Moe, (I'm going to stop listing now because we could go on forever.) were spot on! As Mr. Burns would say, Excellent! The plot was good, but a bit confusing but I can blame Shakesphere for that. There was a surprise musical finale too. That was a great surprise! So, I had some trouble with the last post. Here's why, First of all, it was rushed. I had to go to evening church. Second of all, I had some technical difficulties fitting all the photos in so I knew I had to make a second post. I am set off easily when it comes to technology. I have meltdowns. Keep in mind, I am autistic and only 10. But my mom says that everyone is set off when technology doesn't obey. I also said that I would post more photos, so, without further ado, heres Minecraft!
