Aidan the Aspie Critic: Jack the Giant Slayer

I saw a new movie on Friday!

Fe Fi Fo Fum! It was Jack the Giant Slayer, a movie based on the stories of Jack and the Beanstalk and Jack the Giant Killer. It's about a young farm boy named Jack. Jack has had a fascination with Giants from a very young age, especially from a poem his Father used to read him about the legend of the evil Giants, magic beans that grow into massive beanstalks, and a magical crown that turns the warlike Giants into faithful servants of whoever wears the crown. The poem was supposed to be a fairy tale, BUT, when the 18 year old Jack goes to market to sell his horse, he is given magic beans for his horse by a very paranoid and mysterious monk. Well, Jack goes home with the beans but his uncle, (His father had died.) throws the beans away. Jack collected most of them, but 1 was lost. One night, the princess in disguise, (She also has had a fascination with Giants from a very young age and doesn't want to be a princess. Mostly because her father, The King, is forcing her to marry a stupid jerk guy named Rodrick. The princess's mother, The Queen, had passed away.) comes to Jack's hut in the rain and the lost bean accidentally gets wet, making it grow into a huge beanstalk! The princess gets caught up in the vines and goes up with the beanstalk! She ends up in the mysterious and dangerous land of the Giants! Can Jack, along with the stupid jerk guy Rodrick and some other guys, save the princess from the evil and ferocious Giants!? And, will the Giants find a way back to earth?

This was an EXCELLENT movie! It was also CRAZY intense! The giants are ugly, but awesome! There was something especially disturbing about the second head of the Two-Headed-King Giant. There were lots of giants flying at you because the movie was made for 3-D. (Luckily, I saw it in 2-D!) The Cinematography was great, the story was great, but it scared the (BEEP) out of me!!! There was also good humour so this was a very funny movie as well! It also had a twist ending that was probably leading up to a sequel! Anyway, Jack the Giant Slayer is a great movie, but don't take the little ones, it's SCARY!!! I'd give it 9 out of 10 stars! This movie was GIANT fun! (See what I did there?)

Have you seen Jack the Giant Slayer? What did you think of it? Tell me in the comments!

Aidan the Aspie Critic: Wreck-It Ralph

I saw a new movie today!

It's called Wreck-It Ralph. It is a movie about a video game character called, bizarrely enough, Wreck-It Ralph. He is the villain in a retro arcade game called Fix-It Felix Jr.  Ralph has been doing his job for over 30 years, but he is sorta in a dead-end job. Ralph isn't really bad, he's just doing his job, but everyone else treats him like a criminal. No one respects him. So, Ralph abandons his game to go look for a new role to play in a different video game. The bad news is, Ralph's colleagues in his old game can't do the game without Ralph. Because Ralph isn't there, everyone thinks the game is broken. Fix-It Felix Jr.'s plug could get pulled. If a game gets it's plug pulled, it means that the game is dead. All the characters inside the game while the plug gets pulled, disappear forever. Can Ralph save his game and solve his identity crisis? Watch Wreck-It Ralph to find out!

This was an EXCELLENT movie! I, personally, didn't have high hopes for it when I saw the trailer, but I was wrong! I would really recommend it for people who know video games really well or else you won't get the references or characters. There are lots of video games that show up in this film including, Mortal Kombat, Metroid, Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Plants vs. Zombies, Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Q-Bert, MarioKart, and many, many more! (No Angry Birds or Minecraft!?!) The movie had a great message too! The movie was all about how everyone has a role and a place in this world, and the world would fall apart without someone. I'd give the movie 9 out of 10 stars! Jolly good show!

Have you seen Wreck-It Ralph? What did you think of it? Tell me in the comments!

Sing Along Time With Aidan!

Hey guys!

I am actually a parody writer! I've written some really good stuff so, I thought that I would share them with you guys!

The song that I am going to share with you today is a Star Wars parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe!
It's called, Join Me Maybe! It's about Darth Vader.

Here is a link to Carly Rae's song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWNaR-rxAic
WARNING: THIS VIDEO HAS SOME BAD STUFF IN IT!!! VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!!!! (If you still want to listen to the song, you could just minimize the window with the video running. The song is perfectly fine, it's just the video that has the bad stuff.)

Now, let me get this straight, I did not write the chorus! The chorus belongs to Chad Nikolaus and Angie Griffin. But, when they posted their video on YouTube, they didn't write any verses! So, I decided  to write them a full song! I am not the first to do this, but I sure am the first at my school!

Here is a link to Chad and Angie's video:

So, without further ado, here's Join Me Maybe!

I blew up Alderaan, test out the Death Star for fun, I sure did kill everyone, things were going my way.
But then you came in my life, you blew up my device, you flew off in the night, things weren't going my way.
But, I tracked you down now, give me the Death Star plans now, I'll slice off your hand now, where you thing you're going sonny?!

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but I'm your father, so join me maybe!
Together we can, rule the galaxy! 'Cause I'm your father, so join me maybe!
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but I'm your father, so join me maybe!
And, your mother died, when you were a baby! Search your feelings, who's your daddy?

You took your time with the fight, I took my time with the wait, Palpatine was very patient, things weren't going my way.
You beat the crap out of him, I threw him down the Zap shaft, you were right about me! Things were going my way!
You did track me down now, no need for Death Star plans now, I'll hold your robot hand now, where you think you're going Sonny!?

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but I'm your father, so join me maybe!
Together we can, rule the galaxy! 'Cause I'm your father, so join me maybe!
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but I'm your father, so join me maybe!
And, your mother died, when you were a baby! Search your feelings, who's your daddy?

Before I turned to the Dark Side, I was Anakin, I hope you know that, my name was Anakin!
Before I turned to the Dark Side, I was Anakin, I hope you know that, my name was Anakin!

More parodies coming soon!

Aidan the Aspie Critic: ParaNorman

I just saw a new movie yesterday!

It's called ParaNorman. It's about a kid who can see and communicate with Ghosts (and Zombies). Everybody thinks he is just weird and creepy, including his own family! One day, his creepy Great Uncle Prenderghast, who by the way can see Ghosts too, warns Norman about a Witches curse that happens every night on the anniversary of her execution. Uncle Prenderghast has stopped it from happening every year by reading from a book at the Witches grave. But, Uncle Prenderghast died. So now, Norman has to stop the curse every year. But, something went terribly wrong! The dead were walking the earth as ZOMBIES!!!! Can Norman and his friends save the day? Watch ParaNorman to find out!

ParaNorman was an EXCELLENT movie! Like most great movies, it was based on a book. My brother and I read the book together before seeing the movie. You always understand the movie better if you read the book first! Anyway, it was terrific! It had a great moral too! The movie was all about Bullying and Forgiveness. I would give the movie 9 out of 10 stars! It was great!

Have you seen ParaNorman? What did you think of it? Tell me in the comments!
